I fear the worst, but I'm hoping against the odds that I will be voting in the next U.S. president. Whether or not I believe that it's possible, I will exercise my right. I pray that the working man will rise up and take a stand protecting his right to earn and keep his money. We have the choice to vote for Obama.

He claims to lower taxes, yet his plan calls for an increase in capital gains taxes, creating an estate tax of around 50%, not to mention he has no explanation of how he is going to fund the billions of dollars worth of new spending he is proposing. He does not even know (or disclose) if his plan will raise taxes on those making 250k and up or as low as 120k and up. That will depend upon how much his programs will cost, so there are no guarantees with this big spender. How do you think the government pays for these new programs? Bureaucrats aren't taking salary cuts for it, that's for sure. Obama believes that by saddling the middle and upper classes with more tax burdens, he can level the playing field to help out those who would rather not work hard. "Spreading the wealth around" is a socialist principal which has no place in America.

He wants to put a time table on the war in Iraq. He has absolutely no personal experience or knowledge about military tactics or strategies. He will not listen to advise from qualified generals, but would rather risk our safety in order to please the hippie liberals. He proposes cutting our military budget and halting further exploration into missile defense systems. While countries like Iran plot against us, he would put us at risk by cutting into the protection of the American people. Where is that military money going with our increased taxes? Government run health care, tax "breaks" for the unemployed who don't pay taxes or contribute to society, and a host of other frivolous expenditures that Americans cannot afford. Simply enough, he is not qualified to make these kinds of decisions in such a turmoiled world.

He is completely clueless when it comes to energy. He advocated tapping Americas strategic reserves in lieu of more drilling. The strategic reserve is our country's emergency supply that has been building up during the Bush administration. He advocates clean coal one day, then denounces it the next. The same is true for nuclear power. He does not understand the needs of the American people or the danger of our continued reliance on foreign oil while new technology is being created. He does not have the knowledge of these resources in order to make wise decisions.

Obama wants to take our guns away. The solution to our "clinging"to them, is apparently, to rip them out of our hands. The founding fathers wanted us to have the right to protect ourselves from a corrupt and dangerous government like the one he is proposing. He even advocates bans on hunting rifles and ammunition. As for myself, I'll be purchasing a few more guns of my own and stocking up on ammo between now and January just in case, if that socialist is elected. I suggest other lovers of America do the same. He would also rather leave the single mother helpless in the case of a break-in. She could be beaten, raped, robbed, or killed. With no weapon to protect herself, Obama is condemning her to this fate by enforcing gun bans. Is it better that the helpless citizen die, than the evil-minded criminal? According to Obama, yes! Criminals will always find access to weapons. If they cared about the law at all, they wouldn't be in the profession they're in.

In addition to all of this, Barack Obama is a morally bankrupt man. He believes that the unborn have no rights. He opposes bans on partial birth abortion, proven by his voting record. He and his wife believe that white people are somehow inferior to black people. Their attendance at Rev. Wright's church for 20 years proves his appreciation of this philosophy. In addition, he has referred to his grandmother as a "typical white person." Just what is a typical white person? Racist? And what does that make a typical black person? What if John McCain had used that phrase? His wife, Michelle has allegedly referred to members of the white race as, "whiteys." As opposed to what? Blackies? This kind of moral ignorance cannot be tolerated in our citizens, and certainly not in our leaders, particularly the Commander in Chief.

Thankfully we also have the choice to vote for John McCain.

If you are sitting on your butt collecting welfare, no, McCain is not going to help you out with tax credits. He is going to continue to lower taxes across the board, but at the same time, he will slash spending and work to balance the budget. He will combat earmarking just as he has done throughout his career. He will veto frivolous spending ideas from Congress, and allow businesses to grow and thrive without smothering from the government.

As a proud servant in the U.S. Navy, McCain knows the ins and outs of the military. He does not claim to know it all though, but humbly takes advise from top U.S. generals who have first hand experience with the Iraq situation. He fought for the troop surge even despite its unpopularity. McCain can be trusted to do the right thing regardless of how it will affect his ratings. He is a true leader we can trust, taking good advise when appropriate, while going against the grain when in the best interest of his country. He can be trusted to handle delicate situations with skilled diplomacy and with force only when necessary.

The McCain/Palin energy policy involves covering all of the bases. He wants to encourage nuclear power, clean coal, wind, solar, and other alternative energy options. At the same time, he knows that the shift cannot happen overnight. In order to protect the Americans from gas prices and from terrorist oil producing nations who would seek to harm our country, he advocates tapping into America's own oil resources. Sarah Palin is all too familiar with America's oil potential from her experience in Alaska.

John McCain wants to allow Americans the fundamental right to protect themselves from criminals and from their government. He believes that we should have the right to protect ourselves by use of deadly force if necessary.

John McCain believes in the sanctity of life. He and his wife, Cindy have adopted children of their own and understand first hand the benefits that can come from unplanned pregnancies, when babies are allowed the right to life.

The choice is clear. Barack Obama is going to tax us to death despite his fairytale-like claims. He will endanger this country with unwise cuts to the military while refusing to ween America from dangerous foreign oil. In Obama's world, people will work for no incentive, terrorists leaders and diabolical masterminds will sit down and negotiate peacefully with capitalist countries, criminals will hand over their weapons, and unicorns run free in fields of flowers.

Please vote for McCain tomorrow, for your safety, economic prosperity, and for the future of your country. I've done what I can, and hopefully I've reached some....

Barack (let's go with George) Obama

Ladies and gentlemen, there’s three types of people in our country today. There’s people that make things happen, There’s people that watch things happen. And there are people that wonder what happened. On November 4th, let’s leave Barack Hussein Obama wondering what happened.

Does that sound like a racist comment? Made by Lee County sheriff, Mike Scott, this statement was made during a speech in Southwest Florida introducing v.p. candidate Sarah Palin. I don't see anything racist or inappropriate about it. Maybe it's because he's a shaved headed Conservative? He was pounced on however, with criticisms that his use of Obama's middle name was racist. Even the McCain Campaign relinquished its testicles in this matter, stating,

We do not condone this inappropriate rhetoric which distracts from the real questions of judgment, character and experience that voters will base their decisions on this November.

Even dear John Sydney McCain (oops should I not have said that?) stated,

I absolutely repudiate such comments. It will never happen again.

So we are never going to speek of this presidential candidates middle name ever again? Because that's just mean. Was it offensive to call former Dem. candidate Clinton by Hillary? That should be considered sexist if we play by the same deck of cards. How is someone's honest middle name considered "inappropriate rhetoric?" Sheriff Scott has not budged a bit, saying,

Why would I regret using someone's middle name? I'm perceiving a huge, huge double standard.

At least someone isn't afraid of Obama. Why in the world is everyone bending over backward to appease this guy? Are people that afraid of being labled racist? We shouldn't hand him the White House without question just because he's an African-American, excuse me, Arab-American. That is how men like Hitler got to be so powerful. Nobody dared to apply pressure because of fear. I'm not saying that Obama is Hitler, by any means- he's as anti-Aryan as they come. All I'm saying is that we have to scrutinize in detail the men we consider for presidency. It should not matter what color they are, but it should matter when they fight so hard to conceal their past. What is there to hide Barack?

The Hypocrisy of it All

Is it just me or is anyone else getting tired of all the liberal media backbiting of Sarah Palin and John McCain? Example, John McCain makes an appearance on The View. Barbara Walters doesn't so much as let the man finish a sentence, issuing a steady stream of demands paired with an attitude of condescension.

The hardcore nature of the interview would have been more acceptable had it it not been for the ridiculous excuse for an interview which was given to Obama. The hens sat their twittering from excitement over their guest, Ms. Walters even telling him that he is "very sexy."

I always thought that she had more class than that...oops, guess not.

What better reason to elect a man president than his sex appeal? Apparently, every news network in America with the exception of conservative FOX has the view that sex appeal and charm make the best candidate.

This has been the MOST disgusting media coverage of any presidential election I have ever seen! Is America that hooked on Obama? I really don't think so. A poll taken recently after the RNC showed that the majority of Americans thought that the media coverage of Sarah Palin had been too harsh and unfair.

It's the people behind the media pushing their own political agendas and ignoring the unbiased facts. FOX is the only news I even watch anymore, I'm so sick of the crap that the other news stations are spewing.

Pot calling the Kettle Black

Obama acted civilly enough in congratulating Sarah Palin as the newly selected running mate for Sen. McCain. Despite this, his camp immediately began slinging mud. They are slamming McCain for choosing a vp as inexperienced as Palin.

Those who live in glass houses...

Senator Obama has been in the Senate for a whopping 3 and 1/2 years. Half of that time period, he has spent on the campaign trail, so what does that give him-less than 2 years experience in the Senate? The rest of his life, he's been a big business man involved with shady characters. Yes he has experience...in swindling and making money. What has he ever done involving foreign policy? Can he even point out Iraq on a map?

Gov. Sarah Palin has been the governor of Alaska for the past 2 years, a beloved governor who has done great things for her state. She was the mayor of a town of 9,000. She chaired on the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Comission and served as Ethics Supervisor for 2 years. She's smart, tough and sticks by her guns. For example, she gave up the governor's private jet and othe money wasting perks upon becomming governor. Her husband is a union worker for BP Oil, and he is also a commercial fisherman.

How dare Obama's people attack Palin? The Republican VICE Presidential nominee has at least twice the political experience as the Democratic PRESIDENTIAL nominee. She is also obviously far more in touch with the problems faced by the working man. Her international experience is limited...but so is Obama's! McCain's prowess in foreign affairs more than makes up for it.

I'm so tired of the Obama camp saying McCain is a heartbeat away from handing Palin the presidency! Regardless of age or health, EVERY president is a heartbeat away from handing over the presidency. How young and healthy was JFK? Similar to how young and healthy Obama is- would Democrats want Joe Biden as President? Obviously they don't or they would have voted for him in primaries. I'm so tired of that argument.

I suppose the Dems need something to grasp at seeing as the Republican ticket now has it all- foreign policy experience, military knowledge, economic/oil expertise, understanding of the working class, not to mention a bucket full of charm.

Russia...or USSR...Which is it?

Nothing ruined my viewing of the Olympics quite like the news flash that Russian bombers and fighters brought down their furry upon the former Soviet State, now independent country of Georgia. Over 2,000 people have now been killed in South Ossentia.

South Ossentia is a region of Georgia which is trying to break away. This is a civil dispute within Georgia with nothing to do with Russia. Instead of allowing the country to solve its own problems, Russia has stepped in on behalf of the region of South Ossentia to fight Georgia, which is only trying to reclaim the region. Russian Prime Minister Vladimire Putin has accused Georgia of "genocide." The president of Georgia, meanwhile, is vowing to "resist until the end." So don't worry about Darfur in Sudan Mr. Putin, or the human rights violations in China. You worry about the tiny country that it just so happens used to belong to your country. Russia is acting out of the goodness of its own heart with no thought for any benefits to itself.

The whole world sees right through this maneuver. The United States has been quick to condemn Russia's involvement and demand a cease fire. The western European nations including France have also asked Russia to accept Georgia's plea for a cease-fire.

What can be said about Vladimire Putin? He is nothing but a power-hungry man hellbent upon bringing Russia back to its state at the height of the Soviet Empire. He is destroying any hope that Russia had post-cold war of becoming a healthy democratic nation.

As for what's to be done, hopefully Russia will come to its senses and cease-fire. That's doubtful, as Putin shows little record of ever choosing the sensible option. If we can get through the Olympic Games with minimal bloodshed in Georgia and no global escalation necessary, that would be lovely. Cross your fingers people...

Obama Solves the Energy Crisis!

The Nevada Pundit featured an analysis of Sen. Obama's ever changing policy on the energy crisis. He proposes tapping the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in an effort to lower gas prices. So off-shore drilling would accomplish nothing, but this hair brained scheme is expected to have long term impacts on gas prices? All it would do is deplete our emergency stash and leave us without a solution. Nothing, including more drilling, is going to solve the energy crisis except for new technology which eliminates the need for this finite resource altogether.

This plan does demonstrate Obama's inexperience and lack of ability, not that any liberals will notice, as every word the man speaks is golden. Here's why.

Any man who has this much ill regard for the precious freedoms which Americans have fought so bravely for over the last few centuries has no business running this country, running for president, or running his mouth anywhere near the land of the free.

If there is doubt in any conservative's mind about John McCain, this should seal the deal. Heck, even liberals ought to vote McCain. After all, there is no freedom of speech in Iran or Red China.

I don't believe that we've been blessed by the Lord with this amazing history and freedom of worship just to throw it away in the thrill of electing someone charismatic. Obama wants change, and I don't argue with that. The change he wants, however, is to turn a country which seeks freedom and justice for all people into a sniveling, cowardly land of sitting ducks which can no sooner help others in need as it can help itself.
"end misguided defense policies"????
So the Democratic presidential candidate does not want to protect us after admitting that Iran poses a threat? Isn't that one of the few responsibilities that the U.S. government according to the Constitution has?
to protect us "from all enemies both foreign and domestic"

John McCain does worry me as far as his economic sensibilities are concerned. Neither does he line up eye to eye on a few other more minor issues. At least I can worry about them in the safety of my own country though. McCain is more capable of foreign policy and being our Commander in Chief than any president I've seen in quite awhile.

Hopefully the rose colored glasses will soon fall off of America. Then they will see that Obama is not the Savior of America, but rather its demise. The youth of America need to shake off that hippie excitement of voting for a black man and get real. Who do you really want looking out for you- protecting your family and your freedoms?

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

Election 2008

I'm not of the opinion that one should vote strictly for their party. Generally my ideals line up republican, but I never fail to research my candidates thoroughly before heading to the polls. Here are some of the issues that every Christian needs to consider in making a decision.

Abortion- Hopefully this is a clear cut issue in the Christian mind. Unfortunately, it is not clear in the republican party. Rudy Guiliani stood apart in the Republican race as the only candidate to support "choice." Here is a dilemma: Had Rudy won the nomination, what would be the appropriate response? I don't see how I could vote for a candidate who did not support the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Thankfully John McCain is secure in his stand on the importance of life.

Economy/Taxes- Christ has shown us that we are to take care of the poor, feeding and clothing them. At the same, we are to be hard workers, and not leech off of others. If we are given the ability to work we should do so, not depending upon the sweat of others (welfare). It's difficult to balance these without being either unfair or heartless. Presidential candidate for the democratic party, Barack Obama, believes in maintaining low taxes for the working lower and middle classes. He wants to raise taxes on the wealthy of America (200k+). Why should those who have worked hard in life to earn a comfortable lifestyle be forced to give away their earnings to those who have bad luck or have been lazy. Obama would advocate smothering capitalism in the interest of the boosting the lower classes.

War- Christ advocates turning the other cheek when it comes to violence in individuals. Does this apply to nations? I don't think that Jesus would want His people to fall victim to a situation of persecution either. Can America stand in isolation while other countries build up forces to attack our country? Is that right? Should we bury our heads in the sand to avoid confrontation? At the same time, is it right to take soldiers away from their homes, send them thousands of miles away to face a threat that may or may not be harmful to the U.S? Obama wants to establish a time table in which U.S. troops will be withdrawn from Iraq despite what Petraeus my suggest. Should a man with so little military experience really be calling the shots? John McCain believes that we need to stay in Iraq until the job is done. Troops may be needed in the area for decades. American troops are stationed all over the globe, and Iraq really would be no different. With proper plan execution, the war will soon be over..."for all intents and purposes."

My decision, if it is not evident already, is to vote for John McCain. He was not my first choice in the preliminaries. Despite this, it is so important for Christians to vote. Whether you select Obama, McCain, or a third party to vote for, choose someone who reflects your view of Christlike attitude and actions. It's so important for Christians to take an active role in elections. We have a strong voice that needs to be heard. Use our power to turn America around.
